Purdue University Chooses Oxygen Education to Develop Green Certification

Indianapolis, Ind. – October 1, 2009 – Oxygen Education, LLC, a market leading developer of digital content for technical education and workforce development, today announced it is teaming with Purdue University to develop online content for Purdue’s Technical Assistance Program (TAP) Green Enterprise Development Program. As green initiatives have become common in companies nationwide, the need for workforce training in green manufacturing practices has exploded. The Green Enterprise Development Program provides classroom-based and online instruction for workforce training. Oxygen Education is developing the program’s online components.

“We are excited at the potential markets an online presence will create for the Green Enterprise Development Program. Many more people and from a much broader cross section will have access through the new format provided by Oxygen Education,” said Ethan Rogers, manager of energy efficiency services, Purdue Technical Assistance Program. “This will translate into a greater number of people understanding sustainability issues and how to address them.”
Oxygen Education received the contract for Purdue’s Green Enterprise Development Program based on its proven ability to successfully convey diverse content online. The company develops interactive content that uses simulations and activities to engage learners and a methodology proven to enhance learner understanding and retention.
“We are excited to be involved with the sustainable initiatives Purdue University is engaged in,” said Mike Fitzgerald, president, Oxygen Education. “We look forward to pooling resources and developing high quality content to train an emerging workforce in green technologies.”
