Tata Interactive Learning Forum’s Education Track to Focus on 21st Century Student
Tata Interactive Learning Forum will examine strategies for publishing and educational practitioners to face 21st century teaching challenges.
To be held at the exclusive St Julien Hotel & Spa, Boulder, CO on 29–30 October 2009, the Tata Interactive Learning Forum (TLF) is expected to draw some of the leaders, innovators, and decision makers in the education arena. The forum is structured so that the invited leaders will have exposure to new research and technologies and have a productive exchange of ideas in an informal setting about education for the 21st century.
As education delivery moves to the Web, education is evolving rapidly from the print format of the last 500 years. The publishing and education industries are facing a host of challenges, but there is little consensus on how to leverage the new technologies and trends — including Learning Management Systems, digital objects, interactive simulations, learning objects, social media, mobile learning, and iPods, to name a few.
The TLF, an annual C-level forum, aims to address the shifts — from Passive to Active Learning, textbook-based to digital-based learning assets, and time-based classes to outcome-based solutions — arising from the innovations in the publishing, educational, and media industries.
The TLF will feature interactive sessions by the pioneers in 21st century learning who will delve into the cutting edge of best practices and technological interventions across all subject matters and levels. Some of the key issues to be discussed at the event include the use of social media in the classroom; the relevance of mobile learning; eBooks and digital media uses in the classroom; and the application of accurate and precise analytics to target the relevant content.
