iNACOL launches Continuity of Learning web site for swine-flu planning

The International Association for K-12 Online Learning (iNACOL) has launched a new web site to help schools deliver continuity of learning in the event of a swine flu outbreak or other pandemic. iNACOL’s Continuity of Learning web site provides free resources to help schools, districts, and states prepare for the H1N1 flu pandemic or other natural disasters. The site’s toolkit of online resources includes a Readiness Assessment questionnaire; Continuity of Learning planning frameworks; case studies with sample state and district contingency plans; archived events, such as webinars and presentations, on continuity of learning and how online learning can help; steps that districts can take to prepare for short-term and long-term closures prompted by the H1N1 virus; and a section where service providers (companies and organizations) can link to resources they offer for continuity of learning. "Interest in online learning solutions for [providing] continuity of learning is … high [among] school districts," said Susan Patrick, president and CEO of iNACOL. "The recent outbreaks of swine flu in schools have prompted the need for continuity of learning using online learning … in the event of a school closure." http://www.inacol.org/col
