Learn how to integrate free tech tools with this award-winning blog

“Free Technology for Teachers,” a website and blog created by educator and Google Certified Teacher Richard Byrne, highlights free resources and lesson plans for teaching with technology.

A recent post described how teachers can turn their students into “solar storm watchers” with a website that uses satellite imagery, while another post described how to create simple web pages in minutes without having to register for an account with the free service Pagefin.

Because Byrne is a teacher, “he connects the educational implications of the tools and programs being shared with firsthand insight,” said eSchool News reader Alisa Wright, educational technologist for the Warren School in Connecticut. “I have not found another blog that is as beneficial on a daily basis throughout the school year.”

Byrne’s site has received numerous Edublogs awards and reportedly had more than 45,000 followers as of last month.
