Impact of summer loss can be countered by reading just 5 digital books
Leveraging the Collaborative Summer Library Program annual theme “Every Hero Has a Story,” myON has created a turnkey program for educators to encourage students to read “just right” books over the summer.
Based on research from the National Summer Learning Association, access to books and simply reading 5-8 books over the summer are the most effective activities that counter the effects of summer learning loss. myON’s personalized literacy environment recommends books to each student by matching individual students with books that meet their interests as well as their target Lexile range.
