NEWTON, Mass., July 7, 2009 – Amongst unprecedented competition for college scholarships and financial aid, Shelontae Carter of Washington, DC has been awarded a $2,500 scholarship from Upromise, Inc., Sallie Mae’s saving-for-college company. Today, Upromise named the 200 winners nationwide who will receive grants for the 2009-2010 academic year. The Upromise Scholarship supports its members’ pursuit of a college education and is based on both need and merit.
From Alabama to Wisconsin, 200 hard-working students across the nation are one step closer to realizing their dreams of funding a higher education.
