Exinda Breaks the 5 Gbps Barrier

Andover, MA—October 13, 2009—Exinda introduced its largest, most powerful WAN optimization appliance to date, the Exinda 8760.  The latest addition to the Exinda appliance line, the 8760 model offers a complete, easy-to-use and cost effective solution for managing bandwidth and improving application performance at the multi-gig level.  Supporting over 100,000 users, the new appliance aims to service large education and service provider environments that require additional throughput for multi-gig connections.   Designed for high performance networking, the Exinda 8760 appliance allows users to experience a 5 x performance increase over previous offerings and scale from 100 Mgbs to 5 Gbps on a single appliance.   The 8760 model provides users with full network visibility, control and optimization while remaining simple to use and meeting budgetary restraints.

"The trend is clearly moving towards supporting larger and larger internet links,” Explains Bob Beler, President of Information Systems Group, an Exinda gold partner and value-added reseller operating out of the Chicago area.  “Having a visibility and application management solution that can provide both quality of service (QOS) and caching in a single appliance has helped our network run more efficiently, now we can extend this offering to our larger customers with multi-gig connections. We currently have several customers that have increased their bandwidth beyond 1Gbps and several more that are lined up to do the same in the next 6 months. Gbps connections are now becoming a commonplace in many enterprises networks.  It is great that Exinda is able to recognize and address the need for solutions that can scale beyond the 1Gbps barrier, the industry is asking for it.”
