SAN FRANCISCO (June 14, 2022) – Edthena is announcing this year’s honorees for the Teacher Leader Impact Awards which recognize the outstanding achievements of teacher leaders nationwide. All four of the winning educators were nominated by either an administrator or colleague at their school or district for making a measurable impact on others and creating positive lasting change.

The 2022 Teacher Leader Impact Award recipients are:
- Heather Gardner of Moreno Valley Unified in Moreno Valley, CA
- Susanne Smock of Bering Strait School District in Elim, AK
- Donna McDaniel of Keller Independent School District in Keller, TX
- Dieuwertje Kast of University of Southern California in Los Angeles, CA

During the nomination process, administrators or colleagues provided a summary of the nominee’s achievements and a description of why the nominee is deserving of this recognition.
“As a member of our master teacher cohort as well as our inaugural National Board Certification Cohort, Donna has thrown herself into improving her teaching to serve her students better,” noted the Coordinator of Professional Learning and Leadership in the nomination of McDaniel.
