Showfloor News: VEX Robotics launches AI-powered classroom robotics system

VEX Robotics launched VEX AIR, an AI-powered robotics system for classrooms, and VEX AIM, an upcoming platform designed to make machine learning approachable and fun for students of all ages.

Notably, VEX Aim was recently showcased at the White House’s first AI Edu Task Force meeting, demonstrating meaningful, hands-on experiences with AI that go beyond theory and into real-world applications.

By the time they reach high school, most students have already decided whether or not they think science and math are ‘cool’. That’s where VEX comes in.

The VEX Continuum begins with kindergarten and spans through career. With VEX 123, Kindergartners are introduced to educational robotics, and are given the opportunity to see how fun STEM learning can be. Starting with intuitive tool-less systems, then snapping together robots and graduating to advanced metal robots, VEX Robotics can unlock a curiosity and a passion that will stay with them for a lifetime.

Educational robotics serves Computer Science education in many ways. First, robots are fun. No matter the subject, teachers are always looking for ways to engage and motivate their students. Also, the everyday relevance of robots in the lives of students provides a natural and authentic hook for student learning. The process of developing coding solutions with a robot provides a relevant context for engaging students in Computer Science. The VEX Computer Science curriculum continuum will provide students with a fun and engaging way to learn authentic applications to Computer Science concepts.
