In honor of Black History Month, Rise Vision has released 10 FREE Black History Month posters for schools to print out, share on their digital signage, websites, and social media, or use in their classrooms and lesson plans.
The posters are available for download in high-resolution JPG and landscape and portrait-oriented PDFs.
“As a software company that supports K12 schools, we live and breathe technology development and all things education. For Black History Month, we want to help raise the visibility of unsung contributors to U.S. and world history.” Shea Darlison, Head of Marketing
The list of Black History Month heroes is a mix of well-known men and women in history and modern times, like Rosa Parks and Barack Obama, as well as some lesser-known figures, like Mark Dean and Elijah McCoy. The poster set can be a valuable tool for teachers needing to deliver their classes remotely. “We know that many teachers are working hard these days to adjust to online teaching. We are constantly thinking about what resources we can provide to help make this easier for them.”
Each of the 10 designs is ideal for printing, including in newsletters, sharing on social media, websites, and also on digital signage. The posters feature a bold color scheme with modern graphics inspired by traditional African symbology.
As an added bonus to pay homage to more important Black History Month figures, we also published an article breaking down the names and notable contributions of “5 Black Inventors, Educators and Innovators You Should Know”. This list highlights people like Lisa Gelobter, the Godmother of GIFs, and Fanny Jackson Coppin, the first African American principal and superintendent – some of the unsung heroes of the technology and education spaces.
